SERVE > DEPARTMENT

WELFARE

In accordance with the mission of the church, which is that every member makes it to heaven and takes as many believers as possible with him/her to rapture, the purpose of the welfare department is to serve as a conduit. In this role, we aim to show and to share God’s love and to draw all people to the Lord through both our church’s weekly services and prayers and through our actions and dealings with others. Proverbs 27:23 “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herd.” James 2:14-24 “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead…”

The department is involved in the programs and events of other church ministries. Its responsibilities include serving the congregation’s and the community’s needs and promoting family unity through support. The department is zealous in advancing the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the general welfare of the church and the greater community. Matthew 25:35-40 “‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

This department believes that welfare is not restricted to the four walls of a church. Taking care of fellow human beings should be an integral part of every believer’s lifestyle.
